The Williamsport Rabbits
There is a “Farm” in Williamsport, Pennsylvania where someone has been breeding rabbits for meat. The good news is that he is moving into town and going out of business. He agreed to let the remaining rabbits be saved, provided we get them out of his barn before he moved. Those that are left would have been slaughtered for meat.
The rabbits are of various breeds, are friendly and healthy except for coccidia.
The House Rabbit Network has taken in 16 of these rabbits. We estimate that we will spend $1000 on vet bills to spay/neuter them. We will also need to treat them for coccidia and provide day to day care. This cost will vary depending on how long they spend in foster care. Can you contribute to help them?
UPDATE All the rabbits have been removed from the barn and placed in either permanent homes or with rescues groups waiting for adoption. Huge thank you to everyone who assisted with this effort! What a difference it has made for the rabbits. If you are interested in adopting any of these rabbits, please let us know.
