If this is your rabbit’s first ever dose of the vaccine – they need to come for their first dose on the 29th and again, 3 weeks later, at our second clinic on Oct. 20th. The RHDV-2 vaccine is a 2-dose series and must be completed to be effective in preventing RHD.
Rabbit Hemorrhaging Disease is spreading into the Northeast and is 100% fatal to both domestic and wild rabbits. RHD can be brought inside to your house rabbits a variety of ways (shoes, clothes, greens, hay) and can stay alive on these surfaces for many weeks.
The RHDV-2 vaccine is 100% effective in eliminating the risk of your rabbit dying from RHD. In clinical studies, the vaccine has proven to be safe in bunnies as young as 8 weeks as well as senior rabbits. Click this link to find out more about RHD and the vaccine from the vaccine manufacturer.
