House Rabbit Network Needs Your Help!

House Rabbit Network is an organization that is run almost entirely by volunteers, and we are always looking for new people to help out the bunnies. We have many different positions available (both remote and in-person)! Please read our positions below to see what best fits your interests.

Fostering with HRN

Fostering is a rewarding way to support our mission of rescuing and rehoming bunnies in need. We rely on foster homes for:

1) Baby bunnies who are too young to be spayed or neutered
2) Medically complex bunnies who require daily specialized care
3) Bunnies who need a break from the shelter environment

The length of a foster commitment varies based on the bunny’s needs. Short-term fosters, like baby bunnies, typically stay for 2-4 months before they’re ready for adoption. Others may need several months—or, in the case of our “harder-to-adopt” friends, even years—to find their forever homes.

Ready to make a difference? Fill out our foster application, and a member of our foster team will be in touch!

Shelter Volunteers

Are you interested in caring for the bunnies at House Rabbit Network!? If you have time in your schedule to spend 2-3 hours caring for our shelter bunnies at 2 Park Drive in Westford, MA on a semi-regular basis, please fill out this form and our Shelter Manager will be in contact. Shelter volunteers are responsible for feeding, cleaning, and socializing our 30+ shelter bunnies!

If you are looking for specific shelter volunteer opportunities (like group visits) please contact us directly at sheltermanager@rabbitnetwork.org. At this time, we do not allow volunteers under 18 without a parent/guardian present.

Please allow 2-3 weeks for us to process your application. Thank you for your support!

Spa Day (bunny grooming) Volunteer

Want to volunteer to trim bunny nails, brush coats, and clean scent glands? Contact the Spa Day team at bonnie@rabbitnetwork.org. Bonnie C., Jessica P., or Sharon D. will be in contact with you about next steps, including training details!

Bunsitting & Bonding Volunteer Opportunities

Bunsitting is our biggest fundraiser and a fantastic way to support our mission! If you have space to care for bunnies while their owners travel, we’d love to have you as a bunsitter. We’ll provide all the information you need to be a great bunny host. This is a wonderful way to enjoy the company of bunnies without the long-term commitment of fostering or adoption—while also giving bunny owners peace of mind knowing their rabbits are in loving hands. We need bunsitters across all of New England!

We’re also looking for volunteers to help with our bonding services! If you’re interested in learning how to assist bunnies in forming lifelong friendships, reach out to us at bonding@rabbitnetwork.org for more details.

Ready to get involved? If you can bunsit for us – please fill out this form. If you are interested in helping us with our bonding program, fill out this form. Thank you!

Hotline Volunteer

Our hotline team is not currently seeking new volunteers. If you have any questions, please contact hotline@rabbitnetwork.org.

Event & Outreach Volunteer

Help us spread the word about bunny rescue! As an Event & Outreach Volunteer, you’ll represent our organization at fundraisers, vaccine clinics, and community outreach programs. Whether you’re engaging with the public, assisting with event setup, or helping educate others about rabbit care, your support makes a big impact.

If you love connecting with people and want to help bunnies find loving homes, this is the perfect opportunity for you! Sign up today to get involved.

Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Nikki, at nikki@rabbitnetwork.org with any questions.
